Day 122: A Visit From Harold

We have had the Life Ed Caravan  in our school for the last 3 weeks and the children have had a fantastic time visiting Harold. They enjoyed finding out about balanced diets and how to stay healthy. I think we'll all miss having the brightly decorated truck outside our school. Although it will be good to get the car park back. This is a photo of Harold on the outside of the Life Ed Caravan.

Day 120: Time for Tea

It's a horrible, cold and wet evening. What better than a pot of freshly brewed tea? Sounds good to me.

Day 119: Light Fantastic

I just love these lights. And the flying saucer style charger is cool too.

Day 117: Reflecting The Weather

Brrrrrr!!!! Okay, so it's not exactly snowing, but it is a little bit chilly at the moment. So I thought I'd try and post something relating to the cold. So here you go.

Day 116: Pretty Beads

I have a thing for pretty, shiny things - I'm a bit of a magpie I have to say. Although, not as bad as my sister's turning out to be I have to say.
My friends got me this fantastic photo hanger - another thing I love - made out of beads and clips. It's great! And so easy to swap the photos too.
But the best thing about it are the beads. They so colourful and shiny. It makes me happy just to see it.
Thanks guys!

Day 115: Fun Covers

A friend put me on to an author a while ago. The books are good and I just love the covers and titles. They're so simple, bu very cool.

Day 114: A Day Late

This isn't today's photo. It may look like today's photo. But it's actually yesterday's photo. I forgot yesterday. Oops!

Day 113: Cheery Quilt

A few years ago my marmee made me a gorgeous brightly coloured patchwork quilt full of triangles - I love triangles! She had some input from me - and I bet she wished she hadn't at times - and it turned out even better than I could have wanted.
It's a bit too warm to have on my bed during the summer months, so I always feel great when it gets cold enough to put it on - it's about the only thing I really like about it getting cold. It just cheers me up so much. I love it.
And it's a connection to home, which makes it all the more precious to me. You may well be getting more and more photos of my quilt as winter goes on. Heh!

Day 113: Not A Good Weekend

I have missed some photos this weekend. And it's not like I was massively busy and so didn't have to time - not that it takes a lot of time. It just didn't even register that I was missing them. Which is strange because it has taken up so many of my thinking moments so far this year. But there you go. Will try to do better in the future.

Day 111: Pens Again

I was lacking in inspiration today, and totally missed yesterday because I was sleeping for most of it - whether my eyes were open or closed, I still felt like I was sleeping. So I got out my trusty pens and left the flash on to see what it looked like. Here's the result.

Day 109: Tiny White Trumpet

I was walking down the drive, and noticed this lovely little white flower, closing up as the sun was going down. I thought it was a little lonely, but ever so pretty.

Day 108: Treat from Home

I got a parcel from home recently and guess what I found inside it??? It made me so happy! Heh!

Day 107: Calculator Counting

I actually wanted this photo to be the other way round, but for some unknown reason it just won't move. Grrrr!!!

Day 106: Fancy Pattern

I saw this pattern on a really pretty box in the office and thought that it might make a nice photo. I'd hoped the gold would show more of a reflection than it did, but oh well. It's still nice.

Day 105: Liquorice Allsorts

I love liquorice allsorts. I love liquorice of any kind. I especially like the liquorice that has the chocolate inside or around it - combining two of my favourite sweet things. We never got anything like that in the UK, so when I saw it here I was a little bit suspicious. I just couldn't see how it would work. But I'm a convert now. So when I saw a big bag of allsorts today, I just couldn't help myself. It even has some red liquorice with chocolate in it - although I do prefer black liquorice.

Day 104: A Lost Day

I'm not all that sure where yesterday went. Admittedly I did spend most of it sleeping, so that could be the cause of me not posting a photo. But I'm normally very good at remembering over the weekend. I even went online to do something else, and I still completely forgot!
Argh!!!!

Day 102: Stone Head

We went to visit the Auckland Museum today. We had a fantastic time seeing all of the exhibits and doing lots of great activities related to Matariki. Every time I visit the Museum, I have to look out for this stone head. I don't quite know why, but it really calls to me. I love it!

Day 101: Climbing Mantis

Most of the other mantis' have gone from the lavender bush - probably scared away. But I caught this one just climbing up the plastic outside the back door of the hall.

Day 100: Raindrop Run

Due to the rain last night, all of the leaves around my classroom were silvered with little raindrops this morning. I found this lovely broad leaf with a cute little line of drops in the middle of it and thought that it might make a good photo.

Day 99: Front Yard

The weather wasn't fantastic this weekend, so gorgeous photos of the view from my sister's house just weren't going to be taken. However, it did pick up just before I left and so I got this photo of their front garden.

Day 98: Shine A Light

I am a day late in posting this and I totally missed Saturday, but I've been away for the weekend and so am going to post this belatedly and then post another one for today. Charli and Andy got a new lampshade for their lounge a while ago, and while it took me a little while to get used to. I think it's fab.

Day 95: Purple Puletasi

We has a costume day today in the juniors. It was fantastic! All of the children came dressed up in lots of different costumes. One of my girls came in a puletasi (a traditional Samoan dress) and I thought that the fabric was just lovely. The colours were gorgeous and the pattern so pretty. So I thought that I'd use it for my blog today. What do you think?

Day 94: A Mantis Meal

Proof that you should never go anywhere without some form of camera. I was on playground duty and a group of squealing children caught my attention. They had found a preying mantis in the lavender. Upon further investigation, we found about 5 of them. This one had caught a bee for it's lunch. The children were really excited. And so was I!

Day 93: Tree Tile

I got this lovely red and turquoise tile at the Morris and James Pottery near Matakana. You can't really see the colours, so I may have to take another just to show them off. But I quite liked this close up.
