I really like to see patterns in nature. It fascinates me. I think I was first switched on to it when I saw a film called "pi" a long time ago. Weird film, but it started an interest, which is always good.

Day 31: Moon Rings
There were some really fascinating rings around the moon last night. I tried to get a photo, but I'm not all that sure that it came out as well as I'd have liked. It was so interesting to look at. I could have stayed outside for ages.

Day 29: Jelly Beans
There's something so nice about jelly beans. And I love the black ones best - I would buy a bag of all black jelly beans if I could. Luckily this bag had more black jelly beans than normal. Yeah!!!!

Day 28: Earth Hour
I've decided to add another photo today in honour of Earth Hour 2010. I had a lovely relaxing time with a glass of wine and the candlelight. It was lovely.
Day 28: Twisted
Okay, so I'm cheating again. I took these yesterday at school, but I thought that I'd use it today. These plants are in my school's peace garden which is always a nice place to be. As I was walking through it, I noticed the way that these vines twisted together.

Day 27: Colourful Spiral
One of the girls in my classroom chose this photo as the photo that I was going to post today. I have some great felt tip pens that all click together - making it easier for me to know where they all are. I like to see them making different colourful shapes.

Day 26: A Proper Cup Of Tea
I recently got a parcel from home with some proper tea bags in it. Ah, I love a good strong cup of tea. As you can probably see by all of the used tea bags!

Day 25: Kaleidoscope 2
I was stuck for inspiration today, so I took another picture through the kaleidoscope on my desk. A bit of a cheat, but sometimes you just need the world to be a bit more colourful than it really is.

Day 24: Black and White Fish
I got a really cool skin from the Learning at School Conference this year. It makes my laptop really interesting. I like to doodle, but I wish I could draw like this. I then played with the photo till I liked the result.

Day 22: Leaf Curtain
I was wandering outside to check my washing when I looked up and noticed this interesting set of leaves. I really liked the pattern so quickly grabbed my camera and took a photo.

Day 21: Lily Seedpod
I have quite a few lilies in my garden (although they're not doing too well in the heat). This one has a seedpod growing inside the flower. I quite like the way that the webs around the seedpod have been picked out in the photo.

Day 20: Spoon Steps
I love these gorgeous, brightly coloured measuring spoons. My mum sent them from home and I just had to hang them out in the open because they really brighten the kitchen up.

Day 19: Roar!
I have been trying to get a photo of my cat, Maia, yawning for a very long time, but I'm never quick enough! But, finally, I managed it. She's so funny, her eyes go cross eyed and she looks really odd. It makes me laugh every time.

Day 18: Stripes
I'm not fantastic at looking after plants, but I do like nice pots to keep them in while I slowly kill them through neglect. The other day I noticed the way that the horizontal stripes of the plant pot worked with the vertical stripes of the plant. I'm not sure that the photo works how I wanted it to, and I had to crop it in an attempt to make it work. But, ah well.

Day 17: I'm Melting!
Kind of continuing a theme here, but I love to find faces in the most unusual of places and this one caught me unawares today. I had never noticed the weird melted face on my liquorice candle before. I especially like the change in colour in the wax too.
If you want to find more photos with faces in unusual places, visit http://facesinplaces.blogspot.com/. This site is absolutely fantastic.

Day 16: My Toothbrush Head
I love my toothbrush holder! My sister got it for me from the supermarket when she was in Australia. It cheers me up every time I go into the bathroom.
Yes, I'm easily pleased.

Day 15: Thai Painting
My sister and brother in law sent me this lovely painting from Thailand a couple of years ago. I love the sense of movement in it. And the use of colour is great. Thought I'd share it with you.

Challenge
Although I'm only 14 days in, I'm finding this a lot more difficult than I thought I would. Mainly because I am not used to having a camera always on hand and it's hard to find the time to search out material and take photographs when there's so much else to be doing. I'm having to really force myself to get something ... anything, taken to post on this blog. I've taken to carrying around my camera, just in case, (it makes my handbag quite heavy, let me tell you) when what I really need to do is start using the camera in my phone (or invest in a new phone with a better camera) for those moments of spontaneous inspiration.
What I am finding, however, is that I am starting to take a lot more notice of the world around me and the beauty that is there, or the funny, little things that now jump out at me and beg to have a photo taken of them. There's so much that I have taken for granted, and I'm really having my eyes opened. My camera skills may not be developing yet, but my appreciation of how much deserves to be recorded is.
And I'm very happy with that.

Day 14: Lazy Luney
This is my other cat, Luna. She loves to laze about on the cushions when she can' find a nice lap to rest on. Even though she looks so gentle and relaxed, she can be very demanding at times, and very noisy!

Day 13: Tree Trident
I saw this fantastic tree today with the three parts of the trunk rising up together. I thought that the bark was really interesting and I'm quite happy with the resulting photo.

Day 12: Hung Out To Dry
My little geisha mummy string dolly got juice spilt on her, so she had to be washed. She looks quite funny hanging from the rail above the sink in my bathroom.

Day 11: Morning Message
Every morning I put a message on the board for the children to read. It tells them about the date, what's happening and gives them a task to do. I chose an orange pen this week and the word 'thinking' in orange just really struck me. So I took a photo of it.

Day 10: Tree
It may not look like it, but this was taken this morning. I really liked the shape of the leaves on this tree. It didn't quite come out in the photo, but it's still okay.

Day 9: Fence Decorations
The party starts here! Streamers and balloons tell the guests where to come for the birthday party.
This was actually taken at the weekend, but I like it so decided to put it in today.

Day 8: Labradorite #2
It was a lovely sunny day today and after taking a few shots, I finally got a good photo of my labradorite orb. It took some time, but I think it was worth it.

Day 7: Seasonal Changes
As much as I hate to see Summer go, I do love the changes that Autumn brings. I've only just started noticing these colour changes recently and I saw this tree as I walked down my drive. I really like the red that has started to show.

Day 6: Chair Curves
The chairs in my classroom were all stacked and I liked the curves that crossed each other when they were all together. The colours help to accentuate the curves too.

Day 5: Golden Gerbera
Slightly cheating. I took a photo of this gerbera yesterday using the macro function on my camera (I love the macro function on my camera!), and I loved the way that the light changed the colours when I took the photo. I couldn't have done this if I had planned it!

Day 4: Maia resting
This is my cat Maia. She loves sitting on the sofa cushions and lazily resting her paw out away from her body. You've got to be careful though, because even though she looks like she's asleep, she'll take a swipe at you when you least expect it, just for fun.

Day 3: Pretty Colours!
I was packing away my things after school and knocked over the kaleidoscope on my desk. I picked it up and wondered how well my camera would take a photo through it. Here's the end result. Pretty, isn't it?

Day 2: Interesting dots!
My brother in law was very inspired by aboriginal art and he made me a lovely painting. This is just a portion of it, but I love it.
